This trek combines the lush green Annapurna region with the dry Mustang landscapes. Starting from Kathmandu, the journey passes through Pokhara, Ghorepani, and Poon Hill before entering the Kali Gandaki Valley. Trekkers enjoy sunrise views over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, then continue toward Jomsom and Muktinath. The route offers diverse scenery, from rhododendron forests to desert valleys, along with rich Gurung and Tibetan cultures. It is one of the best mixed-experience treks in Nepal.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and Trek Preparation

Day 2: Drive or Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Duration / Distance: 6–7 hrs drive / 200 km OR 25 min flight
Important Notes:

  • Road can be long; early start recommended.

  • Flights depend on weather.

  • Carry essentials.

Travel to Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city. Enjoy beautiful views of rivers, hills, and mountains. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Day 3: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540 m)

Duration / Distance: 1.5 hrs drive + 4–5 hrs trek / 10 km
Important Notes:

  • Easy start to trekking.

  • Stone steps on trail.

  • Carry water and snacks.

Drive to Nayapul and begin trekking through villages and farmland to Tikhedhunga. Enjoy your first experience of Annapurna trekking trails.
Day 4: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860 m)

  • Long uphill climb with stone steps.

  • Rhododendron forest trail.

  • Stay hydrated.

Trek uphill through dense forests to Ghorepani. Enjoy scenic views and traditional villages. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.
Day 5: Sunrise Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani (2,630 m)

Hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Continue trekking to Tadapani through forest trails.
Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Ghasa (2,010 m)

  • Descending trail.

  • Enter Kali Gandaki valley.

  • Mixed terrain.

Descend toward the Kali Gandaki valley and reach Ghasa village. Experience the transition from green hills to drier landscapes.
Day 7: Trek from Ghasa to Marpha (2,670 m)

  • Pass through traditional villages.

  • Carry sun protection.

Trek along the Kali Gandaki River to Marpha, famous for apple orchards and traditional white houses. Overnight stay in Marpha.
Day 8: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni (2,800 m)

Day 9: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3,800 m)

  • Gradual ascent; watch altitude.

  • Visit Jharkot village en route.

Trek to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site. Enjoy mountain views and cultural villages along the way.
Day 10: Explore Muktinath and Trek to Jomsom

Duration / Distance: 6–7 hrs / 18 km

  • Visit temple early morning.

  • Long trekking day.

  • Wind increases in afternoon.

Explore Muktinath Temple and trek down to Jomsom. Enjoy views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Day 11: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara

Duration / Distance: 25 min flight

  • Early morning flight required.

  • Weather dependent.

  • Keep documents ready.

Fly back to Pokhara with scenic mountain views. Relax and explore the lakeside city.
Day 12: Return to Kathmandu and Departure
